I set my sights high. I think it's being hopeful--a positive thinker. You have the right attitude, so don't change, keep on trying and blow the disappointments away. If you never try, you'll never succeed. You also need to learn to be a little sneaky--not dishonest--just act dumb sometimes so you can find out what you really want to know-it's call the Columbo complex--watch some of the old Columbo shows on TV and start practicing.

You should set your sights high. The trick is breaking the goal down into smaller goals that you can realistically reach and then celebrate the smaller victories until you get to the major goal. For instance, you decide you want to run a marathon, but you've never been a runner. First you decide you'll walk 30 minutes 4 times a week. Then you kick it up to an hour 5 days a week. Then you decide to do a walk/run for an hour 5 days a week...you get the drift. You start enjoying your success the first time you walk out the door for the first walk, but you keep pushing to the next step. If you, on the other hand, decide you want to run the whole marathon the first day, you've set yourself up for major disappointment. You are then setting yourself up to fail...then you have a pity party, then you don't want to try new things again because you might fail. Get a grip...you can do it.

Set them high and you may reach the heights but be kind as you meet the same people on the way down and a Bird never flys so high he does not have to land,

I don't set My sights at all. that way, if something bad is coming, I don't know about it til its too late to react and, if something good happens, its a happy surprise.

Always set them high and usually meet my goals. Not on my time line as I would like.

I always aim high. The higher you aim the more likely you are to reach a higher target,or goal. I don't let disappointment bother me too much.
