My university honored me to be one of the heroes in the university broucher. I had an interview today. They asked about my education background, experience in the university, professors, students, and alumni.

For education background, I think they misunderstood me. I said, I was majoring in Political Science and minoring in Geography. On the other hand, the interviewer think I was double majors.

Will this be a big deal? Will I get in trouble?

I don't want people to think that I am a dishonest person. Thank you so much for your kindness.

Sorry for the poor grammar. English is my second language.

I don't think its a big deal, they are the ones who made the mistake. If you are worried about it, go to people who printed the brochure and tell them you noticed a mistake on it, that it has you listed as having 2 majors and that the second one is your minor. Chances are they will just leave it, but at least you tried to straighten it out.
Don't worry, you did nothing wrong, if anyone was more thorough they should have checked for themselves.

I don't think so. If the university really wanted to make sure they had your major correct, they would check it out in the university records. If the interviewer goes back and thinks about it, they may realize they misunderstood you.

I think you'll be fine. They would not have nominated you to be a hero if you weren't a good person.

You should tell them so you could sleep better at night. I don't think you would get kicked out but the ones that would know would look at you differently. So clear your conscience and tell them what you said here, that you think that the interviewer misunderstood what you said and you would like it to be corrected.

I don't think you will get in trouble as you were honest with them. You might go to the people who did the brochure and tell them about the misunderstanding. An honest approach says a lot for who you are.

No it is not a big deal. But if it makes you feel better -- send an email to the interviewer making it clear.

Well, if you are going to be honored in front of everyone. It's better to be truthful because you will definitely be embarassed once everyone found out that you lied.
Save yourself the embarassment.
