I'm watching the NHL Network, and they are showing a playoff game from the mid-80s between the Minnesota North Stars and St. Louis Blues. Willi Plett is playing helmetless...those were the days. This game features a bunch of future coaches
Keith Acton
Craig Hartsburgh
Ron Wilson
Rick Meagher
Brian Sutter

Doug Gilmour looks like a kid!

I've had the channel for years, but because in Canada most of the games shown involve Canadian teams or playoff games, I rarely watch it.

I would love for them to dig up games involving teams like the Cleveland Barons, California Golden Seals, 70s LA Kings, etc..........or would the colours of the uniforms hurt today's TV.

Who here would love to see one of those 10 meaningless games played between the Kansas City Scouts and the Washington Capitals in 74-75 and 75-76? I would. Denis Dupere was a great skater.

Those are the games I would love to see!

Doug Gilmour was a kid in those days! God I miss old school hockey.

Keith Acton is my favorite player of all time, thus the 25 on all of my sweaters and my screen name. A little under sized but tough as nails and boy could he fly. How can any hockey fan not love all of the Sutters? They defined old school hockey.

Speaking of Bellows, here is a little clip of him getting harrassed by Trottier and Stevens when they were both with the Pens. They really lay into him, don't play this in an office, especially in Canada, because of the language.

LOL I'm still partial to the late 60s and 70s as some of the best hockey I ever saw. It's weird to watch guys playing without helmets now but back then I could tell players as much by their hair styles as their numbers. Give me hockey before the instigator rule any day.

Ahh... I wish I had NHL network. I'd love to see old-school games from the past. Especially the helmetless games, it would be great to watch some of those matchups. So, who's winning? lol

Yeah, I have a few VHS tapes of the Flyers Stanley Cups, Red Army game, and some others. It is nice to see real hockey in real jerseys.

Yeah, those were the days of real hockey; not this watered-down crap that we're forced into watching. Too bad I always think of Eagleson whenever I see or hear about it though....
