Now don't laugh I usually put mine up on my birthday. It has become a tradition for us. My birthday is November 7th LOL. I know that is really early but I just love Christmas, and I think it's the funnest part of my birthday LOL.

When I was a kid, we normally put the tree up not long after Thanksgiving and it was a family event. My dad and sister would work together to get the tree up straight and mom and I would pull up all the ornaments from the basement. Then mom would put on Christmas carols and we would all decorate it together. It was always my job to put the angel on top.

After my dad died, my mom and sister didn't even want to have Christmas, but I insisted. It's been my job to get everything together ever since he died and I have to say, it's a bummer! We finally started using artificial trees and I always put it up, and generally do all the decorating myself. Mom helps occasionally, but my sister always has an excuse why she can't. When my mom got remarried, she finally started enjoying Christmas the old way again and it's great. We don't live together any more, but I always make it a point to drive up to her place to help decorate the tree. It's nice to have Christmas back!

I think it is great that you put up the tree on your birthday. Mine is November 27th and I like to have it up right around that time. This is my first year away from home and my boyfriend and I have a little three foot fake one and i plan on putting it up the day after Thanksgiving. It's not much, but it will have to do this year :) My mom is giving me a ton of decorations for the rest of the house, too, so those will be up then as well. I cant wait!

Usually the day after Thanksgiving. But last year we started putting them up the first weekend in November. I had so many trees to put up for a party. The lack of time forced me into using my time wisely and starting the tree trimming early.

If you enjoy putting your tree up on Nov. 7th and it's a tradition, then that's what you should do. I say, do what makes you happy and works for you!

Wow, that's really early!! I love Christmas, too, but I prefer to wait until December to do any Christmas related things. To me it makes it more special. I hate how the stores have Christmas stuff up before Halloween!! It's insane!

I put my tree up around the second weekend in December. Usually two weeks before Christmas.

My mom and I always used to spend the day after Thanksgiving putting up the tree and all the Christmas decorations. It was a nice way to relax the day after having a house full of family. Now that I'm on my own, I still put everything up the day after Thanksgiving.

It depends whether your tree is real or artificial. Or if you are having an early Christmas party, or small children involved. With an artificial tree, I put it up in early December. With a real tree, about Dec. 15th or later.
That way there are less pine needles hanging about.
It all depends on how much time you have, when you actually want the tree up, and whether it is real or not. One of my friends had theirs up until March. It was pretty funny.

Hi Amber,

wow that's a great birthday tradition! For me, it depends on if we have a real tree or an artificial one. If it's artificial we put it up mid to end of november. If it's real we put it up first saturday in December so that it's still green for xmas,

happy holidays!

I try to have my main tree up in time for the first of December. I keep that one up until the first or second week of January.

I also have my ratty old artificial tree that I put up in the basement some time in November. I try to keep that one up as long as possible since no one really notices it.
