A long time ago, I used to raise Monarch Butterflys. At one point, we brought in a caterpillar from the Milkweed. He never grew big and one day he died:(. Then we buried him and I cried. Was this weird? He was only about this big: --

You cried and mourned over something so beautiful..sounds like something I would definately do at any age..I cried once when my daughter told me that a butterfly died..they don't live very long but they are so beautiful and I admire them and the theme for my room is butterflies..

No, that's pretty typical, at least with my kids. Children who are taught to respect little creatures have a lot more sensibilities than those who stand around pulling the wings off of flies.

Kids have a big heart then you grow up and lose some of the things that were so dear to you and become harder with this world we live in today..
