I agree with taking acidophilus. This is great for killing yeast. You basically have too much in your system. Also, while your taking acidophilus, which is natural and not harmful, cut out all sugar, junk and pop. Your body will experience some intense cravings but the craving mean your killing the yeast and it will go away and you shouldn't have problems. I get irritated with the monistat and other quick fixes for this problem because your yeast infections will just come back. Also, if you don't get the yeast out of your system you risk getting thrush with your infant when you begin nursing and let me tell you, that is a nightmare! Google thrush if you don't know what it is.

I don't believe the yogurt is to be applied, it is recommended to eat to prevent yeast infections. I know you are trying to not hurt your baby, but nowadays, they have many safe remedies for the baby. The worst thing is to let it go and/or play doctor on yourself. The very thing you are trying to avoid, you will cause. It is best to go the doctor right away, yeast infections can cause other more serious infections and the cream getting into the placenta will be the least of your worries. Get to the doctors now!!

I have not personally used yogurt, but I have heard that it works. I am 39 wks pregnant and went to see the dr for a yeast infection last week and they put me on Diflucan- one dose, and it cleared up. Ask your doctor about it.

I heard that eating yogurt helps out a lot because of the live cultures...U have to eat a lot of it though to clear up. inserting it also works but like i said this has to be done like 2 times a day for 1-2 weeks in order to clear the infection. I had recurrent yeast infections with my last pregnancy *2 months ago* and just got over one 2 days ago. I used a cream everytime that my doc prescribed,it is safe for use during pregnancy for all stages. Its called terazol / terconazol. I only got them reacurring because i had sex with hubby during treatment. I just finished using it again *i had horrible itching this time around* 2 days ago and this time didnt let hubby touch me and it cleared up beautifully,by the 3rd day *its used for 7 days at bedtime* i had no symptoms and felt fine but even if u feel ok u have to continue to use it...if i were u i would ask the doctor for that specific cream,it works,....good luck!

EATING yogurt can help prevent as well as treat a yeast infection. I wouldn't put it on a tampon....that's just disgusting.

I'd talk to your doctor since pregnancy is involved, but yes, my Aunt as a matter of fact used yogurt as was successful. She said it's really messy, and the best time to do this is at night when you go to bed (make sure and use a pad to prevent a mess in the sheets) and it should clear up within an average of 3 nights of this routine.
Consult your doc though, just to be sure.
Good luck.

Skip yoguert and go straight to acidophilus. It puts good yeast in the intestine and will fix you right up. Take one small pill once at night or during the day only. Start small, do not over-do it. It will balance your yeast back out. It's at the grocery stores but I'd go to a health food store and talk to them about it myself. Store it in the refrigerator, start small, take one pill a day and prepare to be cured for good. it's a miracle worker!

Yogurt will not treat, only prevent.... just like drinking cranberry juice can help prevent UTI's. You can use 7 day treatments... call your doctor and ask if you are worried you might do something wrong.

Ya I have. The Dr even recommended it. Takes a little longer than the creams. Not the 7 day ones but the 1-3 day ones. 3 days it should be getting close.
