And what of the white boys who assaulted the black and pulled a SHOTGUN on them? That isn't constitued as attempted murder? So I punch you... i 'm trying to murder you and you put me in jail for 22 years. Ummmm...NO! Yes, I back this cause 100% and no amount of asking me stupid, pointless questions is going to change that. There is nothing wrong with me... what the hell is wrong with you?

My sister-in-law just told me about it last week and then I read about it in the news paper just yesterday. I was in Georgia where it seemed to be heavily discussed on the radio. I haven't heard much about it up here.

I think it's just wrong and racist (an all-white juror in Louisiana.. sorry, if I'm cynical but I'm sure there was some biases there). I read that the white kids had beat up on a black guy and only 1 or so only got probation. The so-called Justice system is seriously lacking.

Anyway, good of you for posting this. I'm sure a lot of people haven't really heard about this.. I sure hadn't and I regularly watch and read the news.

I have lived in Jena, Louisiana but I now live in North Carolina. I am a correctional officer here in North Carolina and I was a correctional officer when I lived in Jena, Louisiana. Either way if an inmate attacks me I can defend myself. But I must use the minimum amount of reasonable force necessary to control the situation. When resistance stops, I must stop. I can't continue to flail away at this person when he is not conscious. If there were six correctional officers beating an inmate would you be able to justify that?

Ditto to what OhKatie said! I live in Louisiana and I'm well acquainted with the Jena 6. Justice must be served.

Can I ask why you're trying to help them? Exactly what did they do right in this situation? SIX people jumped, punched, kicked and stomped ONE guy and people want to come to the attackers' rescue?! Is there something wrong with you? These kids assaulted that kid, no matter what the circumstances were, and they should be in prison for it.

Lets see, SIX kids, most of them career criminals to begin with, attacked and savagely BEAT a lone kid

So you're saying that's okay?
