a toast is a cheer [as in drinking ]
a wishwell ...
I think it should read " let's toast to our friendship"
if not how intended
then is just slang for something I don't want to know of

To toast, or make a toast is to seal an agreement or celebrate, usually by clicking one's glass with that of another and taking a drink together. It has nothing to do with the bread that is baked by a toaster.

You take a piece of bread and then spell out in (preferably) grated cheese the words "our friendship" on the bread. Pop under the grill for a couple of minutes and Robert is your uncle.

The friends that are there together...have a drink...coffee, tea, or whatever it may be...click the glasses together...and say those words....then either drink it or sip it.
