people ignore it because most of us don't have enough ourselves to do anything about it. most governments and big business ignore it because you can't make a buck on homeless , and broke people, and it costs too damn much to take care of the environment. look at Iraq and darfur. darfur was a problem way before we went into iraq, but there was no squeezing oil out of those people. It is sad but true. if there was oil in darfur i bet the janjaween would have been labeled a terrorist organization, and we would have invaded.

You are absolutely correct. But as the world has gone through you will see it has become a better place to live compared to about 50 years ago. Science has done its part in supporting a larger population than it was 50 years ago. Famines and poverty were there everywhere then, but now it is on the decline. Take for example India. when it got Independence it was a famine country always looking for aid from well to do countries. But now there had never been a famine and it has reserves to match any country, but the population has also grown. On the other hand the west is losing population. As people are more educated and comfortable they tend to have less children. So don't worry all the poor countries when they get rich their population will stabilize. Today China has relaxed the one child policy but I am sure it is not going to have any big impact on its population since they are getting richer and they will not like to have more children. Women who are educated and independent will see to it that they population s kept at a reasonable level.

Beyond Mind to Solve the Problems of the Modern World
It may be that the problems of the world are overwhelming our current mental capacity to resolve them. Only when we move to higher mind of illumination and intuition, and open to the casual power of the Spirit, will we be able to solve all of modern life's current problems.

The reason is everyone has become selfish self centered and has no time for himself .Where will he have the time for others. That is why the social problems are ignored.I would say that no one has the time look into these problems.

Click is easier.
If I told you the way to not only raise the caring level, but also the effective means to clarify the paths to action without relying on some hyper power, you would probably turn away.
Responsibility is too hard to bear.

Probably one of two primary reasons: 1) too focused on themselves and/or 2) Feeling helpless to do anything about the problems so prefer not to think about it

It is not important to them. They are too much involved in their life. They have increased their necessity so much that they do not have time to pay attention to other peoples' basic needs.
