Just wondering why? I hate it, I've tried my best to "enjoy it" but I just think it sucks, being in my 4th year and all. Just wondering what I can think of to look forward to afterwards. I'm in Community college, and its great. So just wondering what u thought.

I have a few awesome teachers, and a few good friends. But i just can't wait for it to be over. I can't explain it, its just that I know there are great things coming after high school. I'm so sick and tired of going there everyday. :(

High school is like a large social stew that gets out of control. Too many people with 'issues' coming together...add to this each person's quest for identity or acceptance manifested through peer pressure. And beside peer pressure, there are other social and academic pressures thrown in, not to mention hormonal changes. Things will settle down after a bit when you attend college.

High school was the best time I've had in my life!
I had friends, no bills, and a pocket full of money because I had a job. Enjoy the "lame-ness" while it lasts. You'll wish for 18 to hurry and arrive, and then 21.....but after 21 the years are a FLASHHHHHH!!!!

You probably think school is lame because you're bored with your classes. Take accelerated classes (AP classes) or try and graduate early and test out of some of them. Or you can find some fun stuff to do. Join a club (i.e. cheer, dance, leadership, etc.), get a job thats related to something you wanna do once you graduate. That way, all the time you spend complaining about how lame it is, you can actually make productive and have a couple years of work experience.

Enjoy your life now, ask A LOT of questions, observe and take heed to the mistakes of others so that you won't have to make them.

I hear ya sista! I am a senior and still have yet to find the fun fun aspect of high school that you hear about in storys. I have a nice enough group of friends, and people all over, I am in ASB and a few other clubs. I have taken all the right classes, but I still just feel drained and the football games and school dances have never lived up to expectations. Even if I go at things being optimisitic, what am I doing wrong!? I can't wait for college. No more asking to go to the bathroom, and no more smart asses who don't want to learn.

No, this is no longer lame! in reality this is in all threat cooler than walking, and once you're worried approximately what human beings would think of, attempt to get there perchance 10-15 minutes early and lock up your motorbike and then watch for college to start. Then no person will notice which you took your motorbike. i visit be a freshman too and this is in all threat like a 2 hour stroll from my domicile yet i visit motorbike on the marvelous days too (I biked right this moment fairly and it took some million/2 an hour, college hasn't fairly began yet yet i wanted to verify how long it would take.) this night you may choose for a rapid motorbike holiday and locate out the place you may lock up your motorbike so which you're actually not dropping time doing that on the 1st day! solid success from a fellow freshman!

It sounds like you may be a little more mature than alot of high school students.
Listen, when you leave high school you never have to look back.
Most students in college do not carry that high school mentality and you are around people that have the same interests as you in college. Plus you are studying something you are actually interested in which is probably why you enjoy it more.
Stick it out. it will all be over soon.

Good luck

When I was in high school, it was fun. I was a track star, basketball star, and cross country star.....I played a sport every season. I was also in a lot of clubs. I was in Key Club, French Club, International Club, Art Club, CSF(California Scholarship Federation), and National Honors Society. I also had a lot of friends. We went to football games and dances together. I guess if you joined more clubs or played sports, you would have a better time. Even going to school sponsored events like dances, rallies, or games. In my opinion, the people who think high school is lame don't get out much......whether it be that they are shy or they're losers. If you have a lot of friends or if you are really popular, then high school would be a blast.

Response to thatgirl_30058, the popular kids are not nothing in college. I was popular in high school and I still am in college. I'm ranked # 1 at UCLA and I'm dating a basketball player, Arron Afflalo. He was the star here and left a year early...he got drafted into the NBA. So, basically, my life is even better. Also, if you're thinking I'm a gold digger, you're wrong...we've been dating since high school.

It's a shame you aren't enjoying school . I'm a teacher and I made sure my student's loved coming to school. Every day we did something exciting for them to look forward to. I believe the teachers can make or break a studen't. Unfortunately, people with creativity are always underrated in terms of intelligence. If Howard Gardner (theory of multiple intelligences) planned curriculums for us...We would never be bored.

It just sucks. The people who love high school, have their peak of their lives then. Same with college. I know a ton of people who still meet up to talk about college, or high school.

They just peaked too soon and spend the rest of their lives trying to recapture the moment.

Keep moving forward in to your future. Life gets better after cliques.

I guess because everyone is trying to figure out what they want to do for the rest of their lives and I personally think people get depressed by making decisions about life at age 16-18. It's a scary feeling. Everything feels like its just piling up on top of you. Lots and lots of pressure.

It's miserable because one size does NOT fit all.
When you get to a place and an age where you have some independence and the space to be an individual then life will improve.
In the meantime just suck it up and drive on. Nothing lasts forever.
