No sound issues are a little painful because there are a number of things which may be the cause of 'no sound'.

Go to the bottom of your screen at the taskbar. Find the thing that looks like a speaker. When you hold the cursor over the icon it will say VOLUME. Right click and open volume controls. Make sure volume levers are up and that no mute buttons are checked. Apply and X out of the volume controls. Hope it works. Unless of course your volume button is just turned down.............
