What an awful idea. Imaging if 'The Advocate' had to hire 80% straight people to prove they didn't discriminate against people who were different.

It wouldn't bother me if it was removed but it would probably have a detrimental effect on society as a whole. I won't explain, it's fairly obvious what would happen to those who are not favored by this society. When I see more equality happening in the job market I will embrace the disintegration of Affirmative Action. Until then I will enjoy how it benefits those who are not of the majority. On a another note, I hate it's enabling effects. No one should embrace Affirmative Action but use it as a decisive tool. It does discriminate. That's it's use. It's not supposed to benefit the majority and why should it.

Of course not.

The current generation should not pay for the mistakes of past generations.

What good does it do if, for example, a white male is more qualified than a black male, but is denied access to a prominent university simply on the basis of race? Is that not racist in itself? Is racism not what "affirmative action" is supposed to be curbing? The concept is self-defeating.
