Giza is the largest pyramid, however the oldest pyramid is the step pyramid in Saqqara (c. 2,650 BC). Scientists have usually estimated that the sphinx was built around 2,558-2,532 BC, but other research differs and estimates it at being built around 10,000 BC. So, based on the generally accepted age of the sphinx, the answer is the pyramid. More likely, though, the sphinx is older (based on more recent research and evidence).

The oldest pyramid in Egypt is the Step Pyramid of Djoser, built in the 3rd Dynasty. The oldest true pyramid (as opposed to a step pyramid) was built by Sneferu at the beginning of the 4th Dynasty.
The Giza pyramids were built after Sneferu's pyramids, and so are older.
The Great Sphinx is a little trickier. Some geologists have argued that the body of the sphinx shows evidence of weathering that suggests that it is older than the pyramids of Giza. However, the face of the Sphinx is thought to be that of the king Khafre, the second king to build a pyramid at Giza. It is possible that the Sphinx was created earlier than the pyramids in a different form and then re-carved in the image of Khafre. That would make the Sphinx as it exists today (ie as a depiction of Khafre) younger than the first pyramid constructed at Giza (by Khufu) and younger than the first pyramids ever constructed in Egypt, though the original monument may be older.

The collapsed pyramid I think. Then the bent pyramid. Then the perfect pyramid. I may not be exactly right. I probably have them mixed up so wiki Khufu.
Giza's not the only place they build pyramids in Egypt. There was one where the guy just wasn't satisfied with it and he just kept piling more and more rocks on it and it collapsed.
I think the order of the pyramid goes (I'm just guessing here cause I really don't remember) The collapsed pyramid comes first because when they built it they didn't clean off all the soft rock first and when it got heavy the soft rock broke and the corners collapsed. So armed with that new information they made sure that didn't happen again. But this time the structure started to crack on the inside because the rocks couldn't hold the weight so they had to modify the blue prints so that the structure wouldn't collapse on itself. The difference in the angle of the pyramid makes it look bent. The perfect pyramid is much smaller but it didn't collapse on itself and it had facing stones. You can't really tell it's shorter because they built it on higher ground.
That's my guess but like I said it's really fuzzy.
I don't think the sphinx is older. It's probably the same age or a little younger. I don't know the dates but Egyptologists have so many 'possible' dates for everything it's really hard to distinguish when anything happened.
Jedi squirrels, maybe the main reason you don't hear about it in the main stream media is because nobody believes it. I mean there are dozens upon dozens of theories of how they built the pyramids. Don't you think this kind of information would be everywhere? And how in the heck does a group of pyramids protect an ancient society? Why would they build chambers in it? Why would they put a sarcophagus in it? It makes no sense.
They don't know who built the Sphinx exactly so its age compared to the pyramids is almost unidentifiable.

The Sphinx is believed to be as old as 5000Y-old, while Giza is about 4500y-old. Also more and more geologists and archeologists are thinking that the Sphinx could be as old as 8000y-old, which will go completely against everything believed about human history... Whats more, I do have worked in the Paleonthological field for a few years, and have learned something much more interesting and possibly much older than the Sphinx... The Pyramids, have not been constructed to be used as tombs for the Pharaons but to protect something much older than the pyramids themselves... It appears that the egyptians, were pretty agile at archeology for their time, and have uncovered the ruins of an even older civilization, about 100m deep in the sand (at the time it was much less deeper or course). Those ruins were about the same as the stonehenge monolithic ruins, but much better preserves, with corners as clear as cut by a laser, and using a very rare redish stone monoliths... In any cases, the egyptians have believed that those were magical and that building pyramids and tombs over them would protect them against the time...
Now the reason why you never heard of this through main streams media, is that nobody wants those to be disturbed for some reasons... I can't really tell you why, but it appears that the Stonehenge style monolithic observatory, were more than mere observatories, and that many others have been found all over the planet...
