I'm 15 weeks pregnant and ever since I hit 11 weeks my stomach is always empty no matter how much I eat. I eat all day sometimes small meals, sometimes big meals but I will have 10 to 15 meals per day. I wake up in the middle of the night feeling as if I haven't eaten for days. I don't know where the food is going because, thank God, I haven't been gaining any weight. As a matter of fact, I'm not even showing. I finally got past the chronic nausea phase but ever since I've been in the chronic hunger phase. Has anyone ever experienced this?

Yes, I experience this with every pregnancy, and this is even with eating large meals, not small ones.

I'm 11 weeks pregnant and last night I had a steak, 2 servings of veggies, wild rice and a glass of water and about 1.5 hours later I was VERY hungry again. Incredible!

This is why I think I'm having twins with every pregnancy. LOL

But really, it's simply because your body requires HUGE amounts of energy and nutrition to accomplish the work of pregnancy. It's not that you just need food for the baby to "eat" but you also need calories and fluids for building the placenta, maintaining the amniotic fluid, keeping up with your increased blood flow and all the other chemical activities that are going on.

This is how you can be eating so much and yet not seeing much weight gain. Your body is simply burning it off quickly because of the increase in metabolic activity from the pregnancy.

I also get hungry in the middle of the night, but I ignore it at that point because I get SO sick of eating all day long! I usually just keep water by my bed and sip that throughout the night to chase away the growling tummy.

lol the chronic hungry phase hit me too! I lost 18 lbs in my first 15weeks...I am now eating everything in sight too It has been 2 weeks of this...It is almost 6pm here and I have only been up since 10am I was up at 600am ate about 5 saltines and half bottle of water back to sleep then when I got up I had an english muffin with peanut butter with a glass of OJ about 12oz of OJ...grabbed my water and some granola bites and a thing of fruit snacks. that lasted me until 1130am....then I started lunch...For lunch I had a bagel with cream cheese and ham on it and apple some chips another bottle of water. I then grabbed a soda and some pretzels for the nextlittle while and that was good up until about 2. I went to the grocery store on the way there I got a decaf latte and a muffin so that I wouldnt buy the entire grocery store. I came home from the store about 330 and since then...I have eaten shhhhdont tell anyone....an entire bag of bagel crisps...the garlic ones lol I LOVE THEM...and another water. It is time to go cook dinner and I am making biscuts and gravy and will have OJ with dinner then I will probably have an orange or pudding cup or somthing like that then before bed I will have a bowl of instant cream of wheat! and a glass of milk...off to bed for me...

I GET IT and I too HOPE it passes....I probably do not need to tell you that I have quit loosing weight lol....Hopefully I dont gain 15lbs in the next week or so....

Just make sure you are not eating all crap...it is hard to get all your fruits and veggies in...I know that I wont today...but I do try hard to. I have also noticed that small "kernel" food help too like the granola bites and another is cheerios....they are a good one too.

Happy pregnancy!

Yep. I felt like that from week 13 on. No matter how much I eat, 10 min later I would be starving. It gets worse the bigger you get as the baby starts to push up on your stomach. Then you get full after very little food, so you feel staving all day long.

It worried me at first, but I passed my glucose test at 12 and 28 weeks no problem. I guess it is just normal to be starving your whole pregnancy.

Try to vary what you eat. Your baby could be craving a certain something, and since it isn't getting it, it tells you that you are hungry. I hate to eat meat, but some meat and milk will usually fill me for a bit longer.

It seems like acid reflux disorder. The different likelihood is a belly ulcer. Both can also be cured by means of the identical therapy. Your surgeon can prescribe acid suppressant remedy, however first, you can also love to test with matters like consuming plenty of milk or various your vitamin. It will regularly resolve in time in the end. The continuously empty feeling is so bizarre, I recognize.

Oh yes... yes, yes.. I definitely went through that! The baby is growing a lot right now, not to mention the fact that you haven't probably been able to eat much up until now. Just make your calories count... don't eat any junk, just real food and you'll be fine.

I'm only 8 1/2 weeks and I'm hungry every hour. This has been going on since week 6.
