Once a very long time ago my brother and I were in the Boy Scouts and we were chosen to march in the Rose Parade. We thought it would be great. We were challenged by our peers to do something that would get us noticed on TV. I flipped the bird on national TV and it was noticed by everybody and their brother. When I got home my Dad whipped the hell out of me, my Mom wouldn't talk to me, my little brother thought it was cool, my baby sister though I was an idiot, my friends just laughed, and I couldn't sit comfortably for about a week.

Yes, had my own show for a while, was successful in Florida...and it was real work, a bore, and tedious as hell. I was not cut out to be a star, that is for sure. There was a time when I was known all over the Eastern seaboard. Trust me, it is not the fun it sounds like...you cannot do ANYTHING without someone, somewhere 'catching' you doing whatever it is you are doing. My personality is better suited for being the background guy, making sure everything is right. I no longer care for the limelight, and I don't think I ever did...I was just good at it, but if you do not like what you are doing, there is no reason to continue .... true of everything in life. I was on first names basis with many of the stars of those days, both in Hollywood and New York.... trust me, again, not the fun it sounds like. Today, I am a nobody and I really like being a nobody. Peace and love, goldwing

No, I've never been on tv, but I was in the 'crowd' at an outside taping of a Christopher Lloyd movie on the Carolina coast in the 80's. The movie never made it big and ironically I never saw it or if I made it in.

I feel like I'm in a room of celebrities listening to all the other answers. I was just happy to get a letter to the editor published in the local paper a few months ago. As a matter of fact, it's still hanging on my refrigerator. Ha!

I was the telecast of a local channel(Solapur, Maharashtra) A dentist who would uproot teeth without administering any palliative etc. ,in front of everybody and yet the person whose tooth was extracted would not only not spit blood but even would not groan. He could immediately afterwards walk home. I was the first to volunteer. I had two streets extacted with no pains. I was interviewed by the local channel and the incident telecast. It was a naine days' wonder for my family members.

I was on the news once, I was 15 and I had just completed an internship w/ Fleet Bank Financial Services. The local news stations had a segment about the program and it's benefits. I was interviewed as well as taped meeting the mayor. When it aired I missed it but my family and friends saw the segment.

Yes. Several times. I also had a show on Armed Forces TV Channel 8 on Okinawa for six months back in the early 1960s. It was a musical variety show, sort of like the ones that Carson and Leno have made famous. Didn't think much of it at the time. But, ten years later I was re-assigned to Okinawa. My battalion executive officer took me to some off-base club that featured a trio with a singer. She spotted me and went into her rendition of "Johnny Guitar". At the end of the number she looked at me and said "Welcome Back Mister Folk Song!", in Japanese. "Minyo-san" (Mister Folk Song) was apparently a nickname some of the Okinawan viewers of the show had tagged me with.

Back when American Bandstand was in its' heyday, we had
a local dance program that was a copy of that show, called,
Portland Bandstand. If we wanted to appear on that show to
dance, and maybe be seen on camera, we applied and in
my case, my boyfriend, my girlfriend and a friend of my boy-
friends, were accepted for a Saturday taping.
It was fun and the studio floor was packed. And later when
I saw the taping on TV, I saw myself for a short moment
among all the other dancers, and it was neat to see how I
would look on TV. It was a fun experience. But the funny thing
I remember, was that my boyfriend, wasn't much of a dancer,
and his friend was. And his friend wanted to dance every
dance with me since we did so well together. But I told him
it wouldn't be fair to my BF or my girlfriend. So he was really
downcast, having to dance with her for the rest of the show.
I felt bad about that, and still do to this day, remembering
his downcast look. He stopped having fun at that very moment. I still remember his name was Craig. And I know
his last name too. Ironic I'd still remember him after all these
years.
