Traditionally, she could use the Jr. suffix, but it's no longer common practice. Here's an excerpt from an article outlining the entire practice:

"Although there are instances of daughters who are named after their mothers using the suffix "jr." or after their grandmothers with the suffix "II", this is not a common practice. The title "Jr." is sometimes used in legal documents, particularly those pertaining to wills and estates, to distinguish among female family members of the same name."

Hope that helps!

My sister in law has the same name as her mom (it is spelled different though, one is Katherine and one is Katheryn) and her nickname in the family is just "junior". Its not on the end of her name like a boy's name might be, but they call her that.

technically, yes but no one considers it like that. girls who are named after their mothers are never considered to be the II or a jr, but its really the same thing as naming your son after his father

you'd think it would be, but i don't think it is because if a boy is John Smith, Jr (or II),he'll always be John Smith Jr. (or II), but Sara Johnson could get married and become Sara Ramirez, so i guess they just don't bother. That's my theory, anyway.

Usually not. Instead you call her by her middle name or a nickname. Like, if you were both called Elizabeth one would be Liz and the other Beth. Or Adrianne, Addie and Anne
