I thought she was going somewhere, what happened? Did Tanya outshine her or did she decide to step back on her own? Both sisters got airplay at the same time back in the day and the last I heard LaCosta was president of Tanya's fan club. Updates or any info would be great.

It is a different name, isn't it? I heard a rumor once that she was named after one of Beau Tucker's old girlfriends.

Tanya has a sister and her name is "LACOSTA"? What the heck kind of name is THAT?
Seriously? Now I gotta look that one up!
Dang, she was the oldest of the Tucker kids! You were right!
Seems to me that she got married just as Tanya was coming up as a singer--LaCosta had it first but kinda gave it up for a man. I bet the "Sisters" album would be great.

Oh yea, i sure do remember her, when her "career" dried up she became Tanya's Fan club president and screwed that up pretty bad too, she never answered any of the mail and the fans were p-o'd big time, tanya just could'nt help her anymore and had to replace her..who knows where and what she's doing these days.

Yes, I met her back in the 80's at the school our kids attended together. I remember he as an awesome MOM, very nice person and quite proud of her beautiful kids. She sang backup for Tanya and Imsaw her performing at our fair in Billings, MT. SHe was married to a pilot at that time.

LaCosta Tucker (born April 6, 1951) was an American country music singer who had some success in the 1970's and 1980's.
Born in Seminole, Texas, Tucker moved around frequently, as her father Beau Tucker was a construction worker. Tucker had two siblings, Donald and younger sister Tanya Tucker. Beau felt LaCosta had the talent to be a star, and Tucker won her first talent contest at age four. In-between entering beauty pageants and talent shows, she performed with Tanya in a band called the Country Westerners. She graduated from Cochise College in Douglas, Arizona and began working as a medical records technician as she sang in clubs and became Miss Country Music, Phoenix.
LaCosta married, and around this time, Tanya became a country music star. LaCosta moved to Las Vegas to be near Tanya, and Beau Tucker helped her get a recording contract with Capitol Records in 1974. Going only by LaCosta, she soon had a hit record with "I Wanna Get To You", which landed at #25 on the country charts, followed by "Get On My Love Train" at #3. Tucker continued to have some degree of chart success for the rest of the decade with her biggest hits in the mid 1970's being the Top 10 "He Took Me For A Ride" in 1975 and "Western Man" in 1976, but many felt she was overshadowed by her younger sister. In 1982 she moved to Elektra Records and she charted her last success, "Love Take It Easy On Me", under her full name of LaCosta Tucker.
In 1989 LaCosta toured with Tanya, and by the 1990's was serving as president of Tanya's fan club. She raised two children, and for a time made gourmet candy for sale on her sister's website.
Many of LaCosta Tucker's recordings are out of print, but a 2000 release, Sisters: An Anthology, saw some of her hits packaged together with Tanya's material. [1]

I remember LaCosta very well.She had a sweetness and a voice that make you want to fall in love with her.I willl always envy the man that married her. She could of really became famous! I still have an 8 track of her that still works as well as an album also. Love you LaCosta!!
