The absolute BEST toy I have found for playing with overactive ferrets, kittens, puppies, parrots, etc is one of those light-pen pointers like they use in classrooms. I can stand in the middle of the house and wiggle the beam on the floor which they try and catch. Then I can run it up and down the hallway, up the walls, across furniture, all over the place. The pet gets a alot of exercise chasing it all over the house and I dont have to move at all.

Mine loves "let's make the bed". Put her on your bed and lift your sheets up and down, they love being ruffled under blankets.
Tug of war is good. Chase is also fun. When she is older you can slide her across the kitchen floor and she'll come running back.
You can use one of those fishing toys they make for cats (ferrets play very much like a kitten).
They like crunchy plastic- I have a curtain rod still in the plastic wrapper that she LOVES to drag downstairs and under my book shelf. The curtain rod is 3 feet long- so it is quite humorous!
Ferrets make their own fun- she'll show you, but it might take a few weeks before she knows the house well enough and feels comfortable.

Almost everything is a game to an 8 week old ferret.
Ferrets love to "ride the towel". You can drag a towel on the ground and they will get excited and hop on it and you can drag them around. You can also flick it over their heads and they will jump up to catch it.
Small stuffed toys with squeakers in them (like for small dogs) and plastic jingle ball things are great hits. A squeak or a jingle and the ferret is all over it. You can also fill a big plastic tub with shredded paper or playground sand and let her dig in it.
One of my youngest ferrets likes to retrieve toys (like plastic bell balls) from tubs of water. She is quite adept at it.
Buy some dryer tubing (the big silvery scrunchy type tubes- they are cheap) and she can run through them.
She probably also likes it if you chase her or let her chase you.
Have fun!

i let my ferret explore my room while im home doing homework. hes usually trying to climb up my legs tho. anyway you can think of that would involved the two of u would be great. play time is when you really bond with your ferret. if you know anyone else who has ferrets have them bring their ferret over for a play date. this way your ferret will be able to ineract with another and maintain its social skills. my ferret was so bonded to me when he met my x bfs ferret he ran and climbed up my pant leg. i also like to take my ferret places that are new and exciting for him ie shopping or on vacation. and remember to switch out the toys everyone and a while u dont always have to buy new ones just swaping between what u have will keep her amused. like the other poster said ferrets love to play with paper bags and i have also found that mine likes to hide in shoe boxes as well as my shoes.

My ex-stepdad owned two ferrets. We'd take it in the spare room and close the door and just put a bunch of stuff on the floor for them. They's love rolling around in paper or plastic grocery bags and play with socks.
Hope this helps â¥

EVERYTHING is a game to a ferret, silly human. Mine love it when I take a blanket and wave it in front of them like a matador...they go nuts. They also love playing chase, and mine love those little balls with the noisemakers inside that you can get for kittens.
