I am assuming that you are referring to the Internet History, footsteps if you will of were you have visited (been).
In that case, you want to:
Open your internet Explorer.
Go under Tools and Internet Options.
In the Mid section you will see Temporary Internet Files.
You want to click on the Delete Files. Be patient that may take a while and it may seen that you computer is frozen but it is not. Then you want to delete your cookies.
Next, the bottom portion where it says history... you want to click on clear history.
That should do it. Bear in mind that there are tons of software out there that will do most of this work for you. Mainly for that you may want to try. MediaRecover histoy eraser

or wincleaner by http://www.pcperformancetools.com
Good luck! :>)

Multiple steps.
1. Delete the history in IE first.
A. You can delete individual entries or all of them.
2. You must delete the temp files and all cookies.
A. This is different for I.E. 6 and I.E. 5.
3. Go to tools, options, and view files. Then do a "Select ALL, then Delete.
