my cats are jumping on top of the corn snakes cage. is that going to stress my snake out? If i put my snake in my bedroom instead of the living room with the light on will he be okay? Is there something i can do to keep my cats away from the cage? i try to keep them off but they keep doing it when i am holding the snake they don't seem to interested please help they are really annoying me.

I would recommend that you get some pegboard and cut it to a little larger than the tank lid size and place it on top. The screen lids on reptile cages are not strong enough to support the weight and will eventually tear out at the edges, not only leaving a space your cat can get into, but allowing your snake to escape. It's better to be able to have it somewhere that you can keep the cats away from it. Unless you leave the lights on all night, the snake should be fine in your room.

Make sure the snake has somewhere to completely hide. My cats never learned not to go on top, so I gave the snakes a better place to get away from the cats. However, the snake seems to come out more often when the cats are there. It seems they are just as curious as the other.

Teach your cats to stay off of the tanks. They are just curious. Spray them with a water bottle every time they go near the tank--it is safe and they will learn very quickly! I think it would be stressful to the snake.
