In most cases that I handled, yes, you can qualify for both, but, there are laws and rules that may not give you your full SS at that time. It also depends on how long they determine the disability will last. Check it out with your local SS office, they will be able to give you the correct determination for your situation and case.

Just because you have a specific condition doesn't mean you are guaranteed SSDI benefits. You will basically need to apply and see what happens. Even if your condition isn't specifically covered, you can still possibly receive benefits.
Just a warning: it can years to actually get benefits. I have medical documentation that I cannot sit for more than an hour and I have been denied benefits (my case is at the administrative hearing level currently and it's a 22-24 month wait to get a court date).

Go to your local Social Security Office and they have three different programs. After talking with one of the workers there they can tell you what you qualify for or what you need to do in your situtation. No one else can tell you if you can receive this as no one else is in control. You need to take your birth certificate and your social security card with you. The worker will go over your work history and if you have medical records showing that you are not able to work that will also be helpful. There is a form that a doctor can fill out for disability. It would be helpful to have that form filled out before going to the soc. sec. office.

Go to Social Security Office near you take a copy of several Doctors narrative reports stating that you are to disabled to work. Usually Social Security will send you a Doctor of their choice to verify your condition at no cost to you.
Best of Luck , I really hope you get yourself straightened out with medication that you will need. Be sure when you go to the Social security Office take a Live Birth Certificate that is the only Birth Certificate they take. It's best to send a Registered letter to them where your Birth Certificate is on file, you'll get it back faster that way.

You should be able to get some money if not the full amount. Go ahead and apply, they can only say no.
