The metric system, 10 based system, it is easier than our system, but we are used to ours. For some odd reason the Kilo is losing weight, that was in the news recently

There is no standard used WORLDWIDE as USA is part of the world, much to Europe's chagrin.

PS Actually there is on "type" of measurement which is truly universal. It is Time, measured in days hours, minutes, etc....
