OK, I don't shave my pubic hair, but is this normal for a girl my age?? Cause some people say that the average age is 12-13, and some of my friends think it's weird that I don't and that I have to. Do I?? Cause I'm the only one who actually sees it, until I have sex, when I'm married...

your 14, you don't have to do that if you don't want to. some girls like their natural beauty to show, it's cool if you aren't going to have sex with anyone until your married - you'll probably be ready for that then. till then, be a kidd.

Yeah it's normal. But it's also normal to not shave, and more natural to not shave. However, most people at least trim or groom themselves down there, even if they don't shave, for cleanliness, to pleasure the partner, or simply for convenience. Hair is so uncomfortable. ikk. And now I'm pregnant. Imagine trying to shave when you can't even see what you're looking at over your bulging belly. lol. It's normal but just be careful if you ever CHOOSE to do so. Believe me it can be embarrassing to engage into sexual action of any sort and have your partner know you've got a bush. It depends on you and your partners preferences as well. Some guys like it shaved, others natural, every one is different! It can be more comfortable but if you shave wrong you may get razor bumps which are NOT fun but can become infected and be painful.

Be careful of the shaver you use, because some become dull or old or rusted and that can lead to infection. Don't get soapy down there too much! It should be mostly natural. Water will wash an odor away, but a lot of scented things have been known to cause irritation as well, and also wearing a certain type of underwear.

Best advice I can give you?

If you're going to shave, shave in the way the hairs are growing, not against them, that will cause razor burn or bumps. so shave the shaver downward, not upward.

Cotton are the best undies to wear, even if lace and others are MUCH sexier, they can cause irritation, especially if you're shaved. Keep that on special occasion. Cotton is best.

When you buy pads (if you use them instead of tampons like I usually always did) scented are ok sometimes, and can sometimes be a blessing, but usually non scented are better. (I still bought scented anyway).

But, shaving, it's normal either way if you want to or not, whatever you choose it's your preference. You just have to be careful and keep yourself clean, not use certain chemicals and wear the right underwear and shaving should be fine. But if you don't follow all of that and go against it, shaving might be a pain in the ****, and becoming irritating or painful.

But don't worry about it right now! You're young and you have years before you should be worrying about that. I myself was shaving at your age, but I didn't like hair in general. I'm going on 19 years old now and still here and there.

For some people it's just like shaving your underarm hair and legs. I don't want hairy underarms, hair legs, and a hairy, well, you know! Then again I'm involved in an intimate relationship so I think that's understandable =)

Honey I'm 25 years old and don't shave down there. If you ever start shaving down there you'll just have to continue because it's gonna get out of control and before you know it you'll have a wolverine between your legs. Shave around the sides so that it doesn't stick out of your bikini but other than that, screw shaving down there. Go Au Naturelle. Besides it's only guys that want you to shave becuase they are pervs. And don't have sex you're only 14!

It is not weird at all. Even when you get married, you don't have to do it. Some women trim, some women completely shave it all off, and some don't shave at all. It all depends on what you want to do. If you find true love, he won't care whether your shaved or not. At the same time, some men do prefer a woman to at least trim, but really, it's whatever. I didn't shave down there until I was 18, and even then, I only did it for a bathing suit, not for a man!

Who cares what your friends think? It's your body.

I'm 15 and I don't shave 'down there'. It shouldn't matter what you do or even if you shave at all. If your friends are worried about your pubic hair, maybe you should get new friends. Some guys like pubic hair, some don't. And if you don't feel like shaving it even when you're married, then don't. It's your body.

I think it is very normal. I'm 16 and I dint shave. I'm not sexually active so I'm the one who sees it, so it doesn't really matter. i shaved once because I thought I was suppose to since I was older. It was a disaster! It itched really bad and I had little bumps. Word from the wise, dint shave until your active. Matter of fact dint shave at all. If your really uncomfortable with it just get a wax.

You have the right idea. Don't let peer pressure tell you to shave when you don't need to. You do not need to. Who would see it? I didn't start shaving mine until much older than you. Remember this is just one instance of peer pressure, don't let anyone make you feel that you are not cool or don't fit in because you don't participate in whatever silly fad is in style. Celebrate your uniqueness, the differences are what make us special. I say don't shave until you really want to for reasons of your own. Enjoy being you just the way you are.

Do whatever YOU want to. Nature wants you to have hair in that area, so it isn't like its a health problem or anything. Shaving is purely a, astyhetic issue - that is, some people simply like the way it looks. When it starts to get long, you'll want to clip it shorter, since it can get caught on your underwear when you sit down, yanking on the hairs and making you generally uncomfortable. Until it reaches this stage, you go ahead and do what you like. Braid it if you want. What your friends think shouldn't really enter into it.

I can tell you that most women do not shave down there... Unless they are a porn star or very sexually active.

I'm glad to hear that you are waiting until you are married. That is the only way to go.

Don't let your "friends" pressure you into anything.

this is something that you can choose to do. but as long as you keep it clean and neat , you really dont have to bother with shaving.
Also remember that you have tender areas there, and one slip with your razor can cut you, and cause infections. and scars, or can make it hurt to go the the restroom or wipe yourself after you're done. Because you can't really see everything down there unless you're in front of a mirror , you're better off not to do this at all.
Like someone else said here. trimming in the bikini line and trim it up with scissors is all you'd need to do
As well as combing it out to keep it free of dirt like toilet paper or during each monthly time to keep it clear of all the tangling associated with that time.

Oh my gosh, at 14 you have much more to worry about than shaving your pubic area! Don't worry! Many girls are not even shaving their legs at 14! You may want to trim during summer and swimsuit season, but just because others are doing it.....
lol! You're right- you're the only one right now to see it, so.... no worry!
