We tried it with a splitter cable but it doesn't seem to be working.

If I remember correctly there should be a coaxial output marked tv2 that you need to conect to the second tv.Not absolutely sure though since I install DirecTv and disconnecting Dish receivers for customers is the only time I see them.I am guessing that you are talking about a Dish 322 or 522 dual tuner receiver that can play different shows on two seperate tv's.If youare talking about two standard receivers like the 301's then each unit needs it's own line to the dish.Look on Dish's website for instructions on self installation for some help would be my first suggestion.Or have them send a tech out to fix it for you.

the dish should have 2 hook ups on it for 2 separate wires. A splitter will not work you have to run 2 coaxs (tv wires) from the dish... one to each dish receiver and tv
