part of the problems is people are crammed into small areas due to job availability.you would think we have a population problem in the usa, but it turns out only 3 percent of the land is developed only 5 percent is actually inhabited.
seemed like alot more. I read a statisitic to a question someone asked, if all who died were to be resurrected, (bible quesiton of course) how would the earth contain all those people. it was estimated including population now, that about 20 billion people would be on the earth (only a approximation it could be more or less).
there would be enough land for every person to have an acre of land. and there would still be millions of acres of woodlands and wildlands left. and that doesn't even include the deserts, if teh deserts are to blossom as the rose does then you have to include these areas once they are green again.
even now the state of texas could hold the whole population I believe the usa, canada and mexico with plenty of living space, if you put the whole world there it would equal 1500 foot living space house on small lot. texas is like a whole other country considering how big it is.
so the problem is not population it is mismanagment. the wealthy exploit the earths resources (we are resource by the way as far as they are concerned) "and bring to ruin those ruining the earth." that is a partial quote from rev 11:18 this is how God feels about the earths destuction.
this so called population thing is being pushed by the wealthy who think there is to many of us (to control of course) and there are to many useless eaters. population reductions has nothing to do with enviroment but everything to do with empire building and people control.

The world is totally overpopulated.
It used to take 3 hours to drive to L.A. Now it takes like 5. It's because there are more and more cars on the road; there is too much traffic. Some urban areas have over 1-hour commutes. Or more.
When this country used to have say, 100 million people, there was plenty space, enough water, and enough resources to be comfortable. Not anymore. At nearly 300 million, we're on the fast track to being really unhappy being squished in everywhere.
Ever think about where all the sewer water goes? Where all the trash goes? Smoke from car exhaust, fires, cigarettes, etc.? Areas of NYC have over 45,000 people per square mile! Ridiculous. That is living on top of each other.
China has the right idea in restricting birth rates, otherwise they would be packed in like sardines in a tic-tac box.
I am all for population restriction.

Currently we have the food resources to sustain the global population if it were distributed correctly (maybe not even correctly, just better), but if the population growth rate continues to climb at the levels it has been, we're headed for a global catastrophe. America is not immune to this problem. Due to the wave of immigration we have been experiencing in the past 3 decades or so, the American population is set to skyrocket over the next 5 decades. This could cause America to have a third world economy, and yes even people starving in the streets. But don't worry. If you're over 30 you'll probably die before the worst occurs.

Believe it or not (read up before deciding) more than nine/tenths the global population is alive ONLY because of advances related to machinery and, as yet, there is no substitute for the fossil fuels that power them.
In 1650, the world population hit a half a billion for the first time in history. Then:
1836 - 1 Billion
1932 - 2 Billion
1964 - 3 Billion
1975 - 4 Billion
1988 - 5 Billion
1998 - 6 Billion
Today - 6.7 Billion
The scary thing is that it started with the beginnings of the steam power revolution. The predecessor to the steam engine - the first application involving usable power - was a huge pump in England used for raising the water level at points in a canal so that ships could keep floating to where their destination. Without powered transportation about 97% of the global population would starve.
Over 90% of the increase came AFTER the development of farm tractors and large agri-business machinery. Practically ALL competitive fertilizers are petroleum bi-products. Without them, at least that many people would be gone soon.
It would be a REALLY good idea to develop a replacement for petroleum and SOON! My favorite is oil from algae. The U.S. Department of Energy worked on this idea from 1978 till 1996. They shut it down just before the explosion in breakthroughs from genetic engineering.
Cheap oil is most likely gone for good. So we'd best begin finding a second-best, one that is renewable.
Hope that helps.

To whomever disagreed with me, I'm interested in and would highly respect your explanation. Thx.

Underlying the problem of climate change are the twin malignancies of pollution and overpopulation. The poor planet cannot deal with exploding billions -- billions -- of occupants with an insatiable thirst for raw materials, energy, water, and, of course and ultimately, economic advantage at any cost.
And the politicos argue about such inanities/insanities as gay marriage, stem cell research and abortion rights. Gay marriage should be encouraged and rewarded, stem cell research hurts no one and benefits people with awful diseases, and the question as to abortion is not whether it should be permitted, but whether it should be required. There are already too many people; children are starving and being slaughtered and horribly treated around the world; senseless, destructive wars are being fought over control of precious resources; human rights are in the garbage can; religious nut cases are strapping explosives to themselves and killing anyone that doesn't agree with their version of divine intent; our own government is spying on us.
It was long ago demonstrated that if you put a few rats in a cage, they get along fine. If you put a lot of rats in a cage, they begin to fight and bite.
Yours truly,
Just Another Rat

When it comes to world resources lets begin with water. ... we have the same amount of water on the planet that we always have, to the last drop. We still have air to breath and we still have ground to walk upon.
Last year they found a forrest that had nearly a million acres that was only discovered at that time. I think it was in India or asia.
It is my opinion that we as the human race are being dystroyed by the "new world order". Our rights are being taken away one by one and yet most people do not even recognize this as being a problem. Because our rights are being taken away only a few are allowed to live at the level that most of us would like to live. This is the only over population I know of in this world.
The people that have so much and the govts that control the world allow people to just grow hungry. Did you know that the USA will allow Africa to ship banannas but they are not allowed to ship products made from banannas. Why? Because the product is worth more that the bananna ... it would allow impoverished nations to grow and prosper. It would allow people to live in homes instead of huts.
How many people were killed in the Tsunami? How many people were whiped out from Pol Pot, Sadam, 911 during and after 911, how many people died in Rawanda, Bosnia?
How many Africans and East Indians are being killed from lack of medicine and being given counterfit medications? International TV is listing the casualities for civilians in Iraq being killed at almost 1,000,000 people while we list it in the thousands.
Yes we are polluting the earth, the soil is demineralized so food is hardly worth eatting, 10,000 children die each day because of lack of clean drinking water, the USA will not even tell us what foods have GMO products in them so we could avoid being contaminated.
Who is getting rich off of these errors? The elite.
Who doesnt understand what is going on in the world? The average citizen that still thinks their vote counts, the average citizen that doesnt understand the value of the american dollar is about 4 cents because we do not have any gold in our reserves.
Im sure your glad I wasnt invited to your family dinner. And I toss your family the remote so they can continue watching Fox tv and football. LOL

We're certainly headed that way and where is the Govt advising us all over the world to consider this. Instead of thinking of wars and diseases, euthanasia's for the solution, can't they give us a HINT for our own benefit and let us make wiser decisions?

Maybe not in the US, but most of the world is so overpopulated that it's unsustainable. Disaster and mass death will be soon to follow.

I think we have enough resources to keep the number of living people here alive, but that doesn't mean we're not overpopulated.
Given our technology and consumption of resources, we were overpopulated centuries ago.
