the "-" sign suggests you subtract it.
38 - 7 = 31

you add first bcause that is what is in the parenthesis. the u take 38 and subtract 7. if u subtract firstu get the same answer but it isnt always going to be like that to so parenthesis first. hop u understand this. =)

Easy!!

1) Anything in the parentheses, you do first.
2) So that means you do 28+10 first then minus the 7.
3) (-) this means subtract, (x) this means multiply.
Hope I helped!!
What grade are your are you in?? I learned this 5th grade (last year!!)

It should be easy to tell when it is written out.
If it is a subtraction sign after the parenthesis then subtract 7
If it is a negative sign it means to multiply, but its usually before the parenthesis.

Subtract. if it were negative seven (here it is minus seven then you would multiply. Always remember PEMDAS (please excuse me dear aunt sally) it is the order of operations that list the rules for performing such operations. Parenthesis, Exponents, Multiplication,Division, Addition, and subtraction.

subtract
the problem is just 28+10-7=31
the parentheses aren't needed
