As of now the Joba Rules will still apply but there was a story on Yankees.com heres the actual link http://www.yankees.com/postseason/jobarules
Basically the article states there may be a meeting with Cashman, Torre and Joba to alter the Joba Rules for the Play offs and then again for the World Series but they did say he will not pitch more then 4 innings without 2 days rest but he may be able to pitch up to 4 innings with one day rest. Then again nothing is final and they will not meet about until the Yanks clinch a playoff spot So we will see :) GO YANKS!!! I LOVE YOU JOBA!!! Don't let Torre Kill you stay healthy and you will be a super star ;) hehe

Cashman is not behind the Joba Rules, they are the creation of Yankee minor league pitching coordinator Nardi Contreras. Cashman and Joe Torre are going by the rules, but in interviews, they sound less than thrilled by them.
The Joba Rules are discussed during every Yankees telecast or radio broadcast, and the general thinking is that they will not apply if the Yankees make it to the postseason. The Joba Rules may seem a little ridiculous, but this is Chamberlain's first pro season (he signed too late to play last season), and they are trying to take care of that
arm. Still, the Yankees are going to eventually have to take off the reigns and let him out there on consecutive days.

How witty! At any rate, Chamberlain is a large piece of the Yankee pitcher future. He was groomed to be a starter. Management made that clear from the onset. As for Torre, he doesn't listen to George anyway. Personally I think someone should pin a medal on Cashman for putting up with George all of these years.
Chamberlain is a horse and no matter what they do with him, he'll be just fine.

Torre apparently agrees with these rules. The Yankees have big plans for Chamberlain and I don't think their going to change their minds. Plans are for him to be a starter, not a reliever. With their batting line up, they just may be able to do it w/o him.

Now that he has given up a run - all bets are off!
Seriously - if they need Chamberlain in the post season, they will use him - Rules or NOT.
Losing is NOT AN OPTION if you are a YANKEE!

I don't think the rule will apply. Once you make it to the post season you need to do whatever it takes to win a game.

IF the yanks do make it, they would be smart to apply the JOBA RULE. That kid is just scary and they would be wise to keep him healthy.
