I stamp the back and use a deposit slip. It seems people don't know the name of the store they're doing business with or something... I don't get it. Why would people leave the "To:" field blank? It happens on a lot of checks.

Yes, you can write it in. Something should be on the line, even if you stamp the back of the check.

I get them too, they're an annoyance.

People leave the "To" field blank, assuming a business will have a stamp to fill it in.

I used to work at a bank and it's illegal for you to fill out any info on their check. The bank may or may not catch that nothing is filled out. You really have to catch it before your customer leaves your business.
