No ..I had to try.. I had fertility issues.. I really believe that the reason why it seems like some people conceive when they are not trying is because they actually dump that ridiculous charting method and have sex before and during ovulation and not after the fact. Charting is soooooooooo precise and is based on what your body should do which is not the same for most women. I firmly believe women get too hung up on one specific ovulation day without really fully understanding the whole method or temp thing and they have sex too late..therefore not pregnant that cycle. When they don't try and just have sex often enough they actually catch that egg and it seems to them that pregnancy was easier when they weren't really trying....but really if they just had sex between days 9-22 every other day all along they may have become pregnant a lot sooner.
I get so upset when i see women going out of their mind wondering what the heck is going on thinking they are trying their best focusing on those temps and that one day and not realizing that sex before and during is key. I know what i went through to get pregnant and it upsets me to see so many women feel hopeless. The last thing anyone should hear or wants to hear is not to try and it will happen.. its not encouraging and some people need advice on how to try and not be told to stop trying.
Good question..
Congrats on your baby!!

Yeah, when people tell me to "relax" or "stop trying" I tell them that my husband and I have a diagnosed fertility problem and if we "stop trying" then we have no chance of getting pregnant.
The ironic thing is that my husband and I just made the decision to stop trying because we've been ttc for 2 years now and I really need a break (emotionally and physically). So, 2 months off and then we'll get back into the swing of things.
Congrats on the baby!! And no, you didn't get it backwards. Different things work for different people.

1st of all, congrats!
And second, I very rarely hear of success stories when couples are "taking a break." I have heard a total of... 3 stories in the almost 2 years i've been TTC.
If you look at the few couples who got pregnant while relaxing, vs. the hundreds of couples who got pregnant by taking their temperature and charting, it's a clear majority.

I think that some women can actually stress out so much that they mess up their cycles and that can make it harder to conceive. TTC is all about timing. Some people get pregnant without trying to hard or trying at all and others get pregnant after extensive procedures and medications. I think if your body handles stress fine and your husband is fine with taking the intamacy out then it is ok to be kind of obsessed about it. Congrats on conceiving whatever you did worked.

Everybody is different. My sister has had more miscarriages that I can remember, but she still has 3 beautiful boys. My wife got pregnant the very first month that we tried. We have friends that tried for years, were about to adopt and were suddenly pregnant.

If you are "due in march" then I guess whatever you did worked. :). It's all about the timing anyway.
