assuming 1/9 - (2/3)b = 1/18
1/9 - 1/18 = (2/3)b
(2-1)/18 = (2/3)b
1/18 = (2/3)b
1/18 * 3/2 = b
b = 1/12

if 1/9 - 2/(3b) = 1/18...
1/9 - 1/18 = 2/(3b)
(2-1)/18 =2/(3b)
1/18 = 2/(3b)
3b = 2(18)
b= 2(18)/3
b=12

When you write 2/3b, does it mean (2/3) b, or 2/ (3b)?
I will assume you mean (2/3) b.

First, change it all the 1/18-ths:
2/18 - 12/18 b = 1/18

Multiply both sides by 18
2 - 12b = 1

Subtract 1 from each side
1 - 12b = 0

Therefore, 1 = 12 b
Divide each side by 12
b = 1 / 12

ok first make them commen dondmeters in this case 18 so you have

2/18 - 10/18b =1/18 then you subract 2/18 from both sides and you have

-10/18b=-2/18 then you solve

it its (2/3)b, b=1/12

If its 2/(3b), b =12

subtract 1/9 from both sides

multiply both sides by -3/2

This will give you b = 1/12, I think.
