I totally disagree. I say the purpose of life is to live, to live life to it's fullest, to find your place in life, to be all God created you to be

There is no "right" answer to this question. For example, some would say the meaning/purpose of life is to follow God's plan. Then again, if you are an athiest, and follow the theory of evolution you agree our purpose is to die. My thought? I have no answer to this question because the answer is unknown to me. I am here, I think I have a purpose, I would like to think there is life after death, yet I have no solid proof of this being true. So I live my life, get the best out of it, and know I must be here for some reason.

The end result of life is death (although it has yet to be proven I will ever die), but it is certainly not the point. The point to me is to have fun, be happy, and try out as many new things as I can with the resources I have available. I work a 40-hour a week job, but I don't live and breath for my company like many seem to do. I make and save my money to try out new things and keep growing personally. To each their own I suppose. I have friends who have never been outside the state or country... to me that is sad. Morgan Freeman said it best in the Shawshank Redemption... 'you better get busy livin' or get busy diein'.

Yes, we are born to die, some say that we are born dead, not dead as in zombie but dead to life, we struggle with so much and some of it is unnecessary, we hold on to it like addictions, which is something that needs to die. Some plants are born just to die so that it may give new life. Read ECCLESIASTES everything happens for a reason. But with death comes new life, I'm trying to write a book about the Meaning of Life, hope it will be in stores soon.(2008).
can't give you the whole poem but heres something for you to think about
What is the meaning of life?
Is it all just to strive and have strife?
Do you believe that there is a God?
And that we are all here to do some kind of job?

What the hell are they teaching at school these days?
We exist to love.
A very simple but complicated answer. We are to love.
First and foremost God Almighty with all our hearts and all our minds then your neighbour as you would want to be loved.
That covers everything my curious one!
Think about it ...if everyone did just that? Who would want to draw their enemies blood? You don't have to like the politics and such of his country but you don't have to hate him either. If you live by this simple reason for our existence we would not have a scruple of the troubles this world has now. Not an iota to be sure.
To love is not easy, especially if it is someone you don't like, or want to be around. You don't have to like someone to love them. So some jerk has hurt you with gossip ( a lack of love there eh?) Do you really want to see the poor one in pain for it? Not if you can love them. So you feel you have been violated and you want vengeance, do you really want the perpetrator to bleed in pain? Or can you love them well enough to exact due justice?
Do you see what I mean? It is very hard to live a life of love and the examples I've just used are everday examples that we all go through and find that hard enough to deal with!!!
If that is so hard to deal with how easy is it to live as we ought to? To live for the reason of our existence. It is difficult and worse yet,,,,,,, cynics would cut the reason for our existence to shreds with every thing they could but the worst reason they would use is that it is impossible.
Yeah it is alone, but with God nothing is impossible.
Which is why you love Him first and foremost with all your heart and mind. Then everything else will fall into place.

"Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell
Without a Creator, there is no point to anything including living or dying or anything in between.
If we reject God, all we can do is to invent some things to do that will make us feel good about ourselves and/or to forget that our existence is meaningless.
But if we will admit that God might exist, then our purpose is to seek Him for He must have put our great need for meaning into our human nature to point us to Him.

The purpose of life is to grow... and if anyone really needs to live by that principle, it would be the teachers in school.
