To be in business for yourself, you will have to have a product. you believe in, and have the type of products that people are already using, will continue to use, and a consumable product that people use and need more. For example, if you sell dishes, but the economy fails, people will quit buying things they don't "need". But, if it's things we use every day, and have to use them, they will still make those purchases.

Boy that other person sounds like a magazine ad. Watch out for them.

Honestly, the best business is one you have an interest in being in. Is there something you like to do? Some skill you have that you can build on? Anything you make or create that others may want? There's so many 'businesses' that you can do from home that it's wide open. You don't have to go with the websites that almost always turn out to be scams.

Find what will keep you interested, creative and enthused, and then start searching that field. People can answer you better if you narrow it down somewhat and you won't be getting those 'go here it's not a scam' postings.

Myself I have a side job making cat toys for two people who buy wholesale from me. I know someone else who's designing belt buckles and getting into it full time. Another who does online greeting cards with affirmation messages. It's whatever is your cuppa tea, you find the niche market for it and away you go.
