I can't predict what will happen to the Middle East but I know one thing for sure... The "Oilmen", including the Bush family, will get richer!

It depends on the nature of the attack and the political atmopshere with in Iran at the time. Most likely the US will not launch a full ground invasion and instead will commence aerial strikes on Military and key infrastucture targets. This will generate massive protests and possibly even sanctions but no real action on the part of the Middle Eastern nations. However the bigger question is how will the Iranian people react. Currently there are two scenarios: Right now as we speak the Iranian people are not thrilled with the current conservative government and there exists more appathy to the "revolution" than ever before. A large segement of the population has been calling for reforms which have been stopped by the clerical hardline. This has generated much fustration and friction to the point people are disregarding most of the moral laws of the nation. Sociologist feel that Iran is heading toward another revolution and whether it takes the shape of a civil war a peaceful change no one knows. A US attack will either galvanize the Iranian people to set aside their reform goals and rally around Iranian nationalism or take advantage of the weakened military and security forces during the attacks to mount a revolution and seize control of the government.

Oil will go off the market, at least for a while. Gas and oil prices will likely skyrocket. That could close down industries and cause inflation at the same time. That is just the start. Why would the people of the Middle East not then attack Israel? Why would Israel not fight back with all she has, which evidently includes about 100 nukes. Its all to horrible to even consider. Yet history is full of awful mistakes by people who really should have known better. I think an attack against Iran would be a disaster for the whole world.

Other mid east countries won't do squat, because EVERYBODY hates Iran (I am speaking about governements, not people)
American forces strike in a limited fashion, as mentioned, with no ground troops. Utilizing aerial strikes the Iranian military and economy gets decimated.
The Iranians try to fight back, which only gives away their hidden military positions, making the US counterstrike even more effective.
The price of oil spikes about +50 dollars a barrel (nearly double its current price) on specualtion of calamity to follow, but then settles down to +25 dollars over the pre-attack price.
This affects all sorts of economies around the world negatively but actually helps the US economy marginally as they gain against the Chinese economy, which can less afford higher fuel prices, and European countries who have invested heavily in Iran will be facing significant material resource losses there.
Russia will scream bloody murder and will only be appeased when the US allows Russia to lead the rebuilding efforts.
Russia will have a net gain of default control of Iran as the Ayatollahs lose control.
Everybody wins.
I have already invested my money in Canadian oil companies and suggest you do the same.

No offense... but reality is harsh... most Mid-eastern countries will be doing their happy dance since Iran's misery is their happiness!
I'm NOT talking about the people... I'm talking about the governments...

Well, the same people getting rich now will get richer. The people making profit off this war would support any war as long as their family and friend aren't involved. True cowards.

In my judgement it won't be the US that attacks. The Iranians will strike the first blow, either at Israel or Europe.
