Really suddenly, no savings, no ideas, loans, car payments, insurance all coming due, in a rural area where my office skills are not in demand. At a loss.

Always wanted to go back to school, but worried I can't survive that way. I have a disabled mother to take care of and a lot of bills.

Get a newspaper route and a pizza delivery job to make ends meet. There is a lot of money to be made out there and those are jobs that are ALWAYS hiring. While you're making just enough to live, keep mailing resumes and job searching. Go to monster.com and any local hiring agencies. Keep an open mind and Good luck!

Apply right away for unemployment compensation. That won't give you as much as you were making, probably more like half, but will at least give you some income for up to six months while you look for another job. You might have to commute to a larger town, or move.

Good luck.
