No, burn out is caused not by shining brightly, but by not taking care of yourself. One can shine brightly for years if one exercises good self care. Plenty of time for refreshing, recharging the power source receptors. Checking in with others, good direction from mentors and working together with peers as well as subordinates and supervisors, one can shine brightly in community for years. Take away any of these elements and burnout begins and can overtake the unaware. Burnout victims often cannot see the problem, and only keep on striving harder, only burning up their reserves faster, injuring others around them and alienating themselves from those who could help them.

The more I shine the more I have to burn out...but I don't necessarily burn out quicker. Getting more shine and losing it would mean staying the same, but I am always changing, as most people are.

Hi,
No or I think I would have burned out long ago! I try to stay positive, hopeful and optimistic. Try being the operative word! It's not always easy and life can get really tough and depressing but even when I'm depressed I find a way to battle through ... once it was by signing up on a degree course and spending four years studying. Kept my mind occupied and diverted from depressive/dark thoughts and fear for the future! And I kept on shining, smiling and showing a happy face to the world.
Perhaps you will burn out quicker by giving up and giving in to despair. Prey on dark thoughts and they will fester. Find something bright to think about and invite the light back into your life. It might first sputter unsteadily but it won't give up, as long as you don't give up. And hope will feed the flame.

Actually it is the opposite, the more i shine the greater the tendency for me to earn energies and thus gives more power and strength. The more i shine, the brighter the luminence is. Isn't it that when you shine, the better you feel?

The more I shine the more harder it is for someone to look at me. I beam with happiness and shine like a star.

Shining leads to jealousy from others. Do it wisely and do it with political savvy. The burnout occurs when we don't follow this.

Burning out makes you stronger so next time you can shine longer.

It rhymes, too.
