I am a junior who has a 3.625 GPA and have taken all honors classes. This year I am taking Spanish AP and senior I will hopefully be taking Calculus AP and English AP. I am the founder and secretary of the Support Our Country Club. Last year we raised over 1000 items to send in care packages to the soldiers in Iraq. I am also a member of the Internation Culture Club. Freshman year I played basketball and football. I play recreation basketball in a league sponsored by the school recreation department. I only have 7 hours of community service so far but hope to get around 75 by the end of next summer. what are my chances of getting into the following schools?

All the schools you mention are what US News calls "More Selective," meaning within the top 100 universities, but not extremely difficult. Although your SAT/ACT score will weigh heavily into the decision, you seem to be on a good track. I think you would make it into at least 4 of the 6 you listed, assuming you do okay on your standardized test and can prove you know how to write a little bit (personal statement).

What do you plan on majoring in?

I am also a junior, and I have a 4.3 GPA, and I very nervous about getting into my dream school: MIT- so I have a backup plan and that is to either go to NYIT or NYU. The only difference really between us is that I do not have any extra-curricular activities.. I seem to spend all my free time on homework and studying.
