Are you kidding? Trying to determine the worst Heisman winner ever is like trying to determine your worst sexual tryst ever. All have been great at least one time.

There have been much worse winners.
The worst was the 1936 winner Larry Kelly from Yale. Kelly was at Yale, and was to some extent a fraud of a player. He was a tight end/defensive end, who only caught 14 passes the year he won the Heisman.
There was also some mediocre quarterbacks in the 1960's that won the award. John Huarte of Notre Dame in 1964(Dick Butkus should have won), the Steve Spurrier of Florida in 1966(Bob Greise should have won), and Gary Bevan of UCLA in 1967(the criminally unconvicted, yet civally liable person involved in an infamous 1994 murder, and who was just recently arrested in Las Vegas for armed robbery of his so-called stolen memorabillia, should have won) were all undeserving winners, and all were worse player than Dayne.

He was awsome in college. What he did in the pros has absolutely nothing to do with the heisman. The big ten had some real studs on defense at that time, too. Worst Heisman winner ever was Rashan Salam, how he beat Kijana Carter out for the heisman, still boggles the mind.

Odd I thought Heisman meant you were the best COLLEGE PLAYER THAT YEAR. I didn't recall it meaning you would be a good NFL player. So the worst would be a player who didn't deserve it. Pick a guy who WASN'T the best player that year. Now by YOUR standards then Chris Weinke was the worst. Beyond that 1-15 record he was what like 35 when he went in the NFL anyway.

Chris Weinke was the worst Heisman winner ever....Ron Dayne is just a bust...
I've watched both a lot...Ron in Wisconsin (Go Badgers) and Chris when he lead my Panthers to 1-15....Weinke is by far the worst Heisman winner...

Well I would not say that. Chris Weinke in 2000, and Eric Crouch 2001, he was a complete flop. He bombed out of Cleveland and disappeared.
Most of all Ricky Williams 1998, the man who threw away his football dream for smoking weed and meditation.

I would have to say Andre Ware or Charlie Ward, Ware's Pro career was over before it started and Ward ever suited up in the NFL.
