When you say "cheap" do you mean you don't care about the quality or you're looking for cheap prices? If you do care about quality you did okay at Target. That's where I like to get my Christmas lights. Either there or Kmart. If you're not too worried about quality, check out a 99 cent store. That's about as cheap as you're gonna get.

Your gonna get what you pay for. We bought cheap lights and as soon as we plugged them in, POP goes the breaker. Look around and get something worth a crap so as to prevent burning down the house ok?

I bought mine at the dollar store - for a dollar! Check there if you want something cheaper than what you've already bought. But, $5 for a string is probably about normal.

i don't know what your area is like, but on the east coast, we have a store called the dollar tree... not 100% on the light count per string but they have them for $!... also, our local target has them for $2.99 per box but i believe they come in 50-100 lights per string. merry christmas!!
