Your teacher's insult was a failure of good behavior on the teacher's part. One of the tenets of education is that no student should ever be physically or verbally abused by a
teacher.
The teacher should apologize, but no legal action seems likely.

Sticks and stones. It is a shame that America is so easily insulted. I am blown away by this feeling that if you are somehow offended or insulted that you need to get retribution or legal compensation for it.

Nothing in the Constitution says you have a right not to be insulted. If insulting people was illegal we would have to build more jails and would have no one to guard all the prisoners. If you feel that the teacher was out of line go talk to the Principal.

Don't be so sensitive. You're lucky that anyone wants to teach these days the way they let students and parents control what goes on in the classroom. Education worked much better when we had corporal punishment in schools and the teachers made the rules. Today the system turns out idiots with attitude problems. Your teacher has to deal with lots of students who have attitude problems, so she might know what she's talking about. My teachers used to say rude things to me all the time, but even if it was illegal I wouldn't have complained. They have a tough job, and ungrateful students don't make it any easier.

I didn't 100% understand your story, but after reading your title I think I understand most of it.

It's not "illegal" but it's certainly disrespectful just as it would be for anyone to insult your mom.

I would talk to the teacher, your parents or even the principal. You shouldn't have to deal with that disrespect in school as long as you are a respectful student.

It is not illegal, however it may violate school policy depending on what she said and where she said it. If she said something about your intelligence in front of the whole class, the school board is likely to have an issue with it. If she told you privately that she thought you were not applying yourself and that she thinks you could do better, there is likely nothing that should be done.

The writing of your question does not reflect strong English skills.

Nope. It's free speech. You're clearly not old enough to understand the lesson, so just respect your teacher and do what she tells you. Do not argue.

It certainly should be, if it isn't; she is guilty of verbal harassment and she sounds like a very disturbed woman who has serious issues and takes out her personal problems on the class...she needs to be reported and I would look into hiring an attorney to sue her for harassment. NO ONE has the right to make remarks about you or your Mom.l I would have really gone off on her, esp about my Mom.
