The Sony MDR-EX51LP, MDR-EX71SLA, and Sennheiser CX-300 earbuds are my favorites. They all have really good bass response as well as good midrange. They cost about $25-$50 on Amazon.

The best ones are made to seal against the ear canal. If you don't mind spending $100 or so, you can get in-ear-monitor buds like the ones musicians use. If you really want comfort and security, you can get an ear doctor to create molds of your ear canal and then you can move around and/or head-bang and they'll stay put.

The reason this works better for bass is that with the ear plugged, you get the best coupling. Just be careful to not overdo the volume and listening time or you'll ONLY be hearing bass when you're 50, all the rest of your hearing range will be toast!

there is a cheaper store made copy of the brand skullcandy. You can get the knockoffs at Big Lots, for 5 dollars.
