these are loans that got cut from the regular staff at the circus. where once they were part of the team, they no longer perform, hence non-performing. Seriously, non-performing loans are loans that aren't being paid by the borrower and thus aren't producing any income for the lender. They're classified as non-performing loans, they are part of the larger family of non-performing assets.
