what scene in a movie gave you such a fright you physically jumped or screamed?

It was in the British horror film 'The Descent' from a few years back.
It's when you first get a good look at the evil, cave-dwelling creatures, when one of them sneaks up behind the girls and plants its hand-thing on her shoulder.
I was watching it with my ex-girlfriend, and we were both sitting on the floor behind a coffee table.. we both got such a fright that the whole table went flying forward, and we doused most of the carpet with beer!

Oh, this is an interesting question.
Let me think... I never actually screamed, but I recall a couple of scenes that made me jump:

THE RING:
"I saw her face..." - and out of the blue pops up Katie sitting in the closet.
I was sitting in the third row of the movie theater, huge screen in front of me, and almost choked to death on my popcorn... :o))

PET SEMATARY:
One word: Zelda.
Need I say more? :o))
That character gave me the worst nightmares when I was a kid. For years, I couldn't walk into my bedroom without turning the lights on first, because I was afraid she'd jump out of a corner...

THE GRUDGE:
Glancing under the blanket you're using to hide from something you're scared of - and then seeing it staring right at you... *shudder*

Oh, and for some odd reason:

SIGNS:
That scene where Bo and her brother are about to feed the dog. :o))
Really quiet sequence, suspense has been built up for a while, nobody is expecting anything to happen just yet - but nevertheless everybody's leaning forward in their seats...
And all of a sudden this dog starts barking and snarling.
The entire theater audience jumped... :o))

And a second later, everyone was frantically readjusting themselves, giving everyone around them a pitiful look conveying "Oh man, you got scared by THAT?".

This is not a movie but it counts
an episode of CSI Miami and Ryan Wolfe is checking out a construction foreman's cabin and he was looking for a nail gun that killed a woman. He goes in with his gun drawn and checks 2 mini wardrobes with his gun cocked and properly drawn . he finds nothing in them and has a look around the kitchen. He notices another door and goes to it absent minded. As soon as he opens the door he takes , not a bullet, not even a knife !!, a nail in his eye he screams and falls to the floor and then calls dispatch but Eric Delko gets there first and takes him along on his shoulder to his van and does some really mad cool driving while trying to keep Ryan from having a fit.

Not scary i know but i literally thought i had a nail in my eye and i screamed like hell

I've got a silly one for you. My five year old was sent into a blind panic by the unlikliest movie.
Basically, a scene in this movie involves a little penguin sitting on a floating piece of ice, with a dark shadow circling underneath. I can see what's coming, so can my older son. Anyway, the dark shadows comes up suddenly from the ice and turns out to be a quite scary looking seal, who's trying to eat the penguin (penguin escapes, by the way...!). My younger son screamed, and pretty much flew out of his seat in absolute terror, flinging his little bowl of popcorn all over the living room as he did. He curled up in a little quivering ball on my lap and begged me to turn the movie off.
The movie in question? It was Happy Feet...!

where the lady is hiding in the dark and she switches her torch on and that THING is staring her right in the face. i literally screamed!!

Sixth Sense:
when he goes into the kitchen and that lady who looks like his mum turns round and shows him her cut wrists (omg im welling up just thinking about it!!!)

when the boy with the gun walks thru the corridoor, turns around and u see half his head missing

at the end of the movie when they are in the car and he says the lady is at the window and u see her there. that made me jump!!

Wrong Turn:
Right at the end when that guy is checking the area and one of the mountain men comes up behind him with his weapon screaming

The Grudge:
when the lady has run into her flat and hides under her bed and peeps out and that black thing is lookin right at her

Boogeyman:
at the start when his dad checks in the closet and suddenly gets pulled in and thrown around.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre In the begininng:
THE WHOLE THING I WAS SCREAMING, TURNING AWAY, AND JUMPING THE WHOLE WAY THOUGH

Jeepers Creepers:
When that bit nasty lorry suddenly comes up ebhind them and chases them.

and when that thing in the road suddenly lifts in big wing. yucky!!!

im guna stop now coz im covered in goosebumps, wanting to cry and...kinda got the urge to watch some good old scary movies. not tonight tho coz my bfs out...maybe tomorrow...

Then it was rated as an 18 film and some young kids had sneaked in, they all screamed and legged it.
