Light can travel through molecules, but some of it will be deflected by the small positive charge of the nucleus within the atom.
And if the molecules themselves are small enough and far enough apart, the light waves can travel between them.

Short answer: Yes.
If it didn't light would do nothing to help us see things. Air is made of many different types of molecules. If light couldn't travel through them, effectively stopping them, then the light would never hit the objects and be reflected back to our eyes so we can see.
The best way to see this yourself is to make some Kool-Aide and shine a small flashlight through it. You will see the band of light clearly go through the suspension.

Yes like penetrates the atmoshere and shollow water. The speed of light 186,282 miles per second is the speed of light through space.
x-rays are much smaller waves than light and can pass through things that light waves can't make it through.
Transparent molecules, translucent molecules and objects like granite rocks that block light.
However if you stand on a tall hill and can see for miles and miles distant things take on a blue hue and further away a grey hue and that's called atmospheric persprctive.

Of course, shine a light through a sheet of plastic wrap.
Or consider the glass surrounding the filament of a light bulb.

the only way you can see light is if it passes through or reflects off of something. so yes light has to travel through them.

I believe you are asking, " how is light transmitted through objects"? Here is a fair description. http://science.howstuffworks.com/question404.htm
