A great one that raised me (not sure well) was the old guilt trip, man o man, using love to guilt me got me to do just about anything my parents want'd. Of course when that didn't work the belt did realy good. Like to count them out for me to, let me know it hurt him more, yea right.....But thru it all (because i've been coked out, well they said I had, was about 5 years old, hey he was an alchie, ok I know co-dependent talk) the most important thing is your ability to relate about that punishment, and your ability to answer for yourself, just saying your the parent and thats the way it is, isn't love, feel for them as you do your self, you do it all for deep reasons, always let them know..... but a punishment needs to be talked about no matter what it is, and the feelings shared.... thats the hardest part in the end.... bad is anything less, or anything more.(physical;-)
