I him on reptile carpet. Is that the best?

never use the sand they try to sell you at the pet store for them. it can kill them if they eat to much of it. stick with the reptitle capret of use newspaper.

Some type of "carpeting"- reptile carpet, astroturf, etc, would probably be the best. Just be sure not to use anything tiny that could be ingested and cause your dragon to become impacted.

Yes, or non-adhesive shelf liner. I use that in all my lizard tanks. Cheap, easy to clean, nice appearance.

I think so. That way they can't swallow any parts of the substrate while eating. Make sure he has hiding spots though.
