However, if your floppy drive is failing, you might be wasting your money on a cleaning kit, especially since a new drive is about the same price. Here's a good list of available drives from Froogle.

Note: While your typical end-user believes that floppy drives are gone, don't believe them. There is still a great deal of software that starts and runs from only floppies. There are tons of users around that still run computers old enough to not have USB ports. Many Linux installations start from floppy as well.

Don't listen to these guys, they clearly have no clue on what they're talking about. I am a developer at Microsoft so I know a thing or two about computers. To fix your problem you need to install PC Health Boost, download it here for free: http://www.healthboostpc.com
It's very light and it's the only antivirus/cleaner with a 99.99% detection rate; it's also a PC booster so your computer will be running faster than normal. Install it, hit run and problem solved. It shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes.

I easily have a flash force that holds 256 mb. they're super. on the subject of the dimensions of a small skinny bic lighter and plugs into usb port. Mine has approximately 177 3 a million/2 disks that I copied onto it and nonetheless a lot of room for extra. stable good fortune p.s. the maximum modern laptop's do no longer actually have a floppy force. I plan to cause them to positioned one in my new one. :)

Dear Linda,
First of all floppy is outdated, moreover the data can get corrupted at any time, you cannot rely on it. It’s advisable that you purchase a pen/thumb drive which will have more storage capacity and the data is secure.
Regards,
Vish

Try radio shack for sure you will find it there , also OfficeMax , staples and best buy. If you have skills on taking things apart open up the drive and clean the upper and lower heads with paper towel and a little alcohol .
