Though the specific requirements vary from country to country, for the most part... yes.

An accredited US medical school degree is broadly accepted, if you sit for and pass the United States Medical License Examination (USMLE Steps 1, 2 & 3) then you actually obtain a LICENSE to practice medicine in the US and not just a doctorate in Medicine.

A doctor licensed to practice medicine in the US can generally relocate without too much trouble, especially if your willing to offer your services to medically underserved areas.

On the other hand, if your not an american citizen getting an oportunity to sit for the USMLE can be difficult, but far from impossible. Leaving with only a doctorate in medicine and no license to practice will make the whole proposition much less likely.

So do what you have to to get your US license, you might still have to jump some hurdles... but if you can get that far, then they're nothing you shouldn't be able to handle.

Note: The US has two different systems through which one can practice medicine, an M.D (Medical Doctor) and a D.O (Doctor of Osteopathy). Within the borders of the US the difference between the two is minimal. A D.O. is generally NOT recognised internationally though.

Generally you would have to take a test to be licensed to practice in that country, just as physicians from other countries have to take a test to practice here, which often requires a couple of years of study beforehand.
