I'm an author and looking for a publisher. Help, please?

Question

Okay, I'm J.L. and I'm an author. I usually write poetry, and short stories. Is anyone a publisher or anyone interested in maybe in publishing something? I would appreciate it a lot. Also, I'm looking for maybe any publishing agency?

Here's an excerpt of one of my poems;

In the Meadow

Gold swaying in the breeze,
emeralds shining through it,
white fluffy lambs in the sky,
the rainbow sparkling through.

Oh brother are you in for a surprise. First, YOU have to contact publishers. They don't scan the Internet looking for would-be novice authors. Second, poetry and short stories are generally a dead and gone genre' where publishers (legitimate publishers anyway) are concerned. Third, poetry is something you write for your own entertainment, as it's even more stale than the short story market. Fourth, the publishing field (again, legitimate publishing not the silly little on-line sites you kids are so fond of; they are just in it for the money and to assuage your ego) is VERY difficult to get into and most never make it. I suggest you do some research and find out how difficult this will be. And finally, what you wrote is NOT poetry, but simplistic prose. It's very trite and again, done only for your own amusement. White fluffy lambs in the sky? You've GOT to be kidding!
