Has anyone had any success with Clomid? How long did it take for you to get pregnant?

Ive never heard of birth defects and Clomid.. if anything I think it helps to produce more than one follicle and hopefully the one that takes is a real good one or more.

I took 50mg on days 5-9 before I saw the specialist and it didn't do anything for me.

Once I saw the specialist I took 100mg on days 3-7 and I ovulated early enough in my cycle and I am pregnant on the first round at 100mg.

This is how I took it to get the least side effects such as headaches, stomach upset etc..

How many mg?

If you are taking 50mg, take it at night..if there are any side effects like headaches or mild stomach upset you will be less likely to notice it at night.

If 100mg, take 1 pill at breakfast with food and then take the other at bedtime and with milk.

If 150mg, take 1 in the am at breakfast with food, and 2 at bedtime with milk and maybe a light snack that wont upset your stomach.

I never had any side effects from Clomid taking it this way.

I produced many follicles and became pregnant in one cycle of 100mg.

Best of luck.. baby dust!

Clomid is not associated with birth defects. It can cause hyperstimulation of the ovaries, which can be serious. There was concern that it could cause cancer, but larger studies have not shown this. However, doctors are still leary of it. 11% of clomid users have multiple fetus' and that is a concern since 11-13% of twins are lost.

Yes, I have and it took me 2 cycles to become pregnant.
I miscarried at 6 weeks. Probable cause of miscarriage was low progesterone levels. not anything to do with Clomid

I have heard that Fermera( ithink that what it is called) is the same as clomid and stays in your system less time so has less chance of causeing any birth defects. Ask you docotr about it he/she could tell you more!

Good luck

I dnt think your dr would perscribe something that would cause birth defects, but when ttc you should be taking floic acid just in case, I am currently on clomid 100mg (3-7), Metformin 500mg (twice a day), Materna (Vitamins), Folic acid (birth defect)

I would think that if it caused birth defects that it would be pulled off the market. I have never taken it, but a office manager for one of my old doctors was only on it for a month before she got pregnant with her son. A lady on the news about a year ago was also only on it for a month and she had 4 babies.
