I am planning on auditioning for the role of Cogsworth.
I am a Low Tenor/High Baritone.
Any suggestions on an audition song and/or monologue?

Hmmmm, since Cogsworth is a bit stuffy or classy maybe:

Bargaining - Do I Hear A Waltz
Delovely - Anything Goes
Consider Yourself - Oliver (but throw in a few "no, no, no's or wait, wait, wait's after saying a line like you're changing your mind...get it? Just a thought. Could be funny :-) )
That Face - Producers (thinking of a clock face - lol)
Once in Love With Amy - Where's Charley (think of Cogsworth getting caught singing and dancing in the library when he thought no one was looking)
Grand Knowing You - She Loves Me
Maybe something from My Fair Lady?

Running out of ideas, sorry. Male roles are not my bag you see :-) As for a monologue, hmmmmm. I don't know off the top of my head, but I did a search on MusicalTheatreAudition, com and it came up with Lenny's Act 2 monologue in Neil Simon's Rumors so you could try that but honestly I don't know if that will work for this. You may want to think of a similar character that you are familiar with and check out http://libretto.musicals.ru/text.php?textid=630&language=1. Click on any letter at the top of that page and look for scripts for other shows. You may be able to find something.

It s never a good idea to sing a song from the show for an audition. That s what callbacks are for.

how about 'bring him home' from Les mis, or there's a beautiful male solo in 'Jekyll and Mr Hyde' - but I can't remember what it's called. Just looked it up. It's 'This is the moment'. Fab song! Good luck!
